Bàscara

 BÀSCARA

Bàscara is a municipality in the Alt Empordà region, in the regions of Girona. It is formed by the town of Bàscara and the aggregated towns of Calabuig and Orriols-Les Roques. The village of Bàscara is located at the southern end of the region, on the right side of Fluvià, on a hill, 66 m above sea level.
It maintains remains of the old medieval wall and the episcopal castle. The first written reference dates from 817.
