Granollers

GRANOLLERS

Granollers is the capital and the most populated city in the Vallés Oriental region.

La Porxada, a Renaissance building that served as a grain market, is the most emblematic building. La Porxada was completed between 1586 and 1587 from a project commissioned by the Villa Council from the master Bartomeu Brufalt. The building measures 24 meters long by 15.65 meters wide and is made up of 15 Tuscan columns that support a four-sided roof.

On de Rodillo street we find the old Santo Domingo hospital, now the Francesc Tarafa room, an example of restored Gothic architecture. Granollers lives off trade and industry. But, in the southern part of the term, the Palou area still conserves agricultural areas.
