MALGRAT DE MAR

Malgrat de Mar is a town and the easternmost municipality of the Maresme, bordering the region of La Selva and Tordera. It is a tourist town, has numerous hotels and campsites and has a beach area of about 4,5 km.

In its historic center, the church of San Nicolás stands out, with its neoclassical façade and octagonal-based bell tower, known as "La Catedral de la Costa". It also has buildings from medieval times such as the manor house that is today the library and tha old hospital, and modernist style buildings such as Ca l'Arnau or Torre de la Espalda.

The elevation of the Castle hill, the Francesc Macià park, the Can Campassol park, the old garden of the birthplace of Zenobia Camprubí, wife of the Nobel Prize for Literature Juan Ramón Jiménez, are some of the highlights of the town.
